About The Event

We welcome back Naomi & Eliza where they work with so many professionals and families who need a lifeline when everything else fails!

With an increasing number of children struggling to attend school..... 'out of the box' thinking is needed!

Often the conventional approach prioritises a rapid return to their setting but for some children, this simply doesn’t work and can make things worse.

They are 'stuck', not attending school but not learning out of school either.

What happens then - and what can we do about it?

This session is for professionals supporting learning, SENCO's, Teachers, Teaching assistants, Headteachers, Virtual School, Designated Teachers, Social Care, Adoption/Foster Care/ Kinship workers, voluntary and community services.

This session is for carers & parents supporting complex needs.

Naomi & Eliza chat to our host Julie, founder of FASD Informed Education to lift the lid on the experiences of children and families who are struggling within the current school system and explore how we can work with children to maximise their chances of a positive steps forwards.

There will be a reflection on children who have a complex spikey neurodevelopmental profiles including Autism, ADHD, FASD, PDA demand avoidance, Trauma including institutional trauma.

Join us for this bitesize session to extend your thinking outside the box and to consider doing things differently to make a plan for the child/ren in your care.

Clinical Psychologist Naomi Fisher & Eliza Fricker will also dip into their new showstopper book 'What Can We Do When School’s Not Working? ..... An Illustrated Handbook for Professionals' .
