Our emergency caregiver autism card is a simple advocacy tool designed to help carers quickly and clearly explain the communication needs of the autistic person they support. It can be shown in everyday situations, or in an emergency, to let others know how best to offer understanding, make reasonable adjustments and reduce pressure during difficult or overwhelming moments. The card can also guide people nearby on what to do without the autistic person or caregiver having to speak. Compact and easy to carry, the card supports calmer interactions, promotes dignity and helps caregivers advocate respectfully when communication may feel challenging.

"For us, it is more than useful; it has been a lifeline. When words are impossible, the card explains everything calmly and clearly. I cry as I write this as it has changed everything for us, thank you, thank you, thank you!"

Wendy

"This card has been a real showstopper for us. In moments where everything feels too much, it stops the confusion, helps people understand quickly and changes how they respond."

Jenny

"It has rescued me during meltdowns when I could not explain what was happening. Being able to show the card meant people knew to give space, stay calm and not ask too many questions."

Sarah

"As a lone carer, this card gives me confidence in difficult moments. Instead of trying to explain everything while under pressure, I can show the card and people know how to help."

Gill

"It has completely changed emergency situations for us. The card tells people what to do, what not to do and how to support without making the situation worse."

Stephen and Marie
