'FASD Informed' Virtual School: What is Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Stage 1

This specialist session will be tailored to consider your role in supporting children in care and previously looked after with prenatal alcohol exposure through diagnosed or undiagnosed Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.

  • Processing information, methods of communication, confabulation

  • Consideration of safeguarding & vulnerabilities including suggestibility, coercion, exploitation risk

  • Supporting Schools with the 'Designated Teacher' lead

  • Sensory needs & supporting the challenges

  • Changing lives with early intervention

  • Masking & 'blending in' to keep safe

  • Framework for OFSTED & the NICE Quality Standards for FASD
